Press Release
LaPorte County Health Department is asking for donations of unused critical supplies from residents and businesses to help fight the COVID-19 outbreak. This is a proactive attempt to collect personal protective equipment (PPE) and disinfectants before supplies run out completely.
The array of supplies will be used to keep those that are working on the front lines protected, healthy and safe while they are protecting the public throughout the COVID-19 response. A shortage of PPE equipment in our county puts our medical and essential worker personnel at risk of becoming infected or sidelined when our community is most depending on them.
We are asking for donations of the following unused items:
Surgical face masks
Eye protection – safety glasses
Goggles
Face shields
N95 masks
Nitrile exam gloves
Surgical tear away gowns
Bootie covers
Hand sanitizer (any size) 60% alcohol
91% isopropyl alcohol
Clorox wipes
Sani-cloth wipes
3% hydrogen peroxide
No-contact infrared thermometers
If you can donate, please call 219.325.5563 to secure a drop off appointment.
